The main duties of SUSTCEF is to accept the donations from the domestic and foreign associations, enterprises, trading companies and individuals, and establish the funding projects depending on the demands of the university and the wishes of the donors.

Third China Pharmaceutical & Chemical Reaction Technology Summit Forum held at SUSTech

The "Third China Pharmaceutical & Chemical Reaction Technology Summit Forum" was recently held at SUSTech in the lecture hall of the First Research Building. The forum was jointly organized by SUSTech’s Department of Chemistry, Technology Transfer Center and Innovation and iCollege. This is the third annual gathering, after the first forum "Chiral Technology and Pharmaceutical Chemistry International Summit Forum" held in Wuhan in 2015, and the second organised by the Southern University of Science and Technology, entitled “Pharmaceutical Reactions and Technology Summit Forum” in 2016. Each event attracts renowned scholars and scientists and covers top level research and developments of pharmaceutical and chemical processes in China and the world.

Chair Professor Zhang Xumu’s speech

At the opening ceremony, the chairman of the conference and chair of the Department of Chemistry Professor Zhang Xumu and Wang Yanmei, secretary-general of the Shenzhen Association of Life Science and Biotechnology, addressed the guests warmly in their speeches.

Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Fudan University Chemistry Professor Chen Fen’er then shared his latest research results. Dr. Zhang Yantao, chief scientist of Electrolysis Molecular Development Department, Dr. Xiao Yi, head of Bensteel Catalyst Research and Development Laboratory, Dr. Lu Lanshi, senior director of Merck's Process, and Gu Yayin, a senior researcher of Albeit Co., consecutively shared their latest finds on pharmaceutical chemical reactions and processes. 

A number of important guests also attended the event including Huang Pingzhong, vice president of Gloria Pharmaceutical Group, Ma Jianguo, vice president and chief technical officer of R & D and the founder of CMO, as well as notable academics including Professor Xie Jianhua from the Institute of Element Organic Chemistry of Nankai University, Professor Jiang Xuefeng from East China Normal University, researcher Zhou Weicheng from the Shanghai Institute of Pharmaceutical Industry, Hu Wenhao, dean of School of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Sun Yat-sen University, and Professor Ji Jixun from Utah State University also contributed to the talks and discussed the latest cutting-edge technology and research ideas.
