Dr. Ren received degrees of B.Sci. and Ph.D. from Peking University in 2003 and 2009, respectively. From 2009 to 2016, he served first as a postdoctoral researcher and then as an associate researcher in University of Science and Technology of China. In October 2016, he joined the Southern University of Science and Technology. His research interests include the electromagnetic phenomena associated with natural earthquakes and the potential applications of the seismoelectric effect in detecting or monitoring subsurface fluid. So far, he has led four scientific research projects, including one youth project and two surface projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has published 10 papers in domestic and foreign scientific journals, including GJI, PJA, CJG and others.
