Research Experience

Senior Research Assistant, City University of Hong Kong 2017-2018

In-situ TEM and SEM characterization of materials for microstructure and deformation mechanisms.

Research Associate, Thayer School of Engineering, Dartmouth College 2014-2015

Focus on developing an understanding of the microstructural stability and deformation mechanisms that control the strength and ductility of potentially-useful f.c.c./B2 FeNiMnAl alloys over a range of temperatures and strain rates.

Research Assistant, Thayer School of Engineering, Dartmouth College 2009-2014

Thoroughly studied the microstructure and mechanical properties of Fe30Ni20Mn35Al15 alloy using state-of-the-art techniques, including TEM, SEM, XRD, hardness test and tensile test.
Systematically designed, synthesized and studied FeNiMnAl by elemental alloying, and tripled the ductility of Fe30Ni20Mn35Al15 by 6 at. % Cr addition

Senior Project, Department of Material Science & Engineering, Tsinghua University 2005-2009

Successfully found the prefer conditions for growth of carbon nanotubes (CNTs), and improved the electrical and heat conductivity over 20 times through the compositing of CNTs and PMMA.
