Dr. Linfeng Fan is currently a Research Fellow at the School of Environmental Science and Engineering, Southern University of Science and Technology. He obtained his Ph. D. in Environmental Science at ETH Zurich, Switzerland. His PhD dealt with the hydro-mechanical triggering mechanism of rainfall-induced landslide, including the development of catchment scale landslide prediction models combining hydrology and soil mechanics, and the analysis of the hydro-mechanical processes that control landslide initiation and runout. The results were published in peer-reviewed journals, e.g., Geophysical Research Letters, Water Resources Research, Journal of Geophysical Research: Earth Surface, Geomorphology. His current research focuses on surface water-groundwater interaction and groundwater contaminant transport.
